I came across this Dove video and suddenly didn’t feel so bad that I don’t look like the images in magazines. Amazing…
Bottom line? Love myself. Love yourself. Love each other. Just the way we are. It’s saddening to think about the time that is lost worrying about what we look like, judging ourselves, judging others, and never looking in the mirror and really looking at the innate beauty that is there.
Join me in loving yourself more. Today. Right now. It’s time.

This has always been one of my favorite videos. Having worked in advertising, photography and marketing most of my life, I am always surprised by how many people don’t really know how much images are manipulated. Probably most people just don’t notice or think about it. That’s understandable.
You are right, Angela. Comparing oneself to something that isn’t even real isn’t very productive. I think this campaign should be viewed by every 10 year old girl in America. Maybe it would help them understand things better.
And you continue to inspire me! Amazing. I feel very fortunate now and realize that wow I am pretty! If only every young girl in the world get understand this view!
