I mentioned in a previous post about how it must be in my blood to create miracles out of circumstances that appear to be nothing because my grandma did it, my mom did, and I do it. You know, those moments when things seem impossible and something, you don’t know what, moves you forward and things magically fall into place better than you could have expected. Or, when you look back on an experience and you don’t know how you got through it and you came out on top. Well I interviewed my grandmother in her garden next to her restored barn (that she and her sister did most of the remodeling themselves) about what today’s women needs to know. I asked her what is an illuminated woman? And remember, this is coming from a 72-year old woman who put shingles on her own house, made and poured cement to make a path in her walkway and does what ever she wants, when ever she wants. She lives with her sister, my great aunt Kathy, and together they do all types of projects. Their newest? Making quilts for the kids at Primary Children’s hospital. Why? Because they like to “help those children feel comforted when they are there.” They are both my inspiration.
