About my life: My name is Deana Leighton, I am married to Darren my best friend, my lover and my hero, he is in every way my mirror and I love his magnificence! I am blessed with a beautiful 17 year old daughter Shaylee who has always been an inspiring teacher to me, she is a powerful, loving healer committed to be the light and I know her to be a tender and wise spirit. I am blessed with the opportunity to be a mother to my step daughter Heather (who I simply consider my daughter) a beautiful 23 year old woman who is playful, tender and loving, she is committed to healing the world and I know her to be a youthful curious spirit. I am blessed with the opportunity to be a mother to my step son Josh who is 25, who I know to be powerful, brilliant and a fabulous father to our grand son Dominic who is 6, I don’t get to see them much they live in Texas and are very busy.
I have 1 cat named Lilly, Shaylee has a cat named Sophie and we have a boxer dog named Roxy, we have a beautiful pond in our back yard with 2 turtles and 15 fish, this is my favorite place in my yard and I love to mediate there! I have always loved animals ever since I can remember they have been very dear to my heart. When I was little I would bring home stray animals anywhere I could find them! I have brought home cats, dogs, birds, turtles, frogs, hamsters and yes even a horse I found in the road!
I love my yard it is my sanctuary from the hustle and bustle of the world. It is where I love to meditate and connect with mother earth and all of the elements around me and with in me. I love to spend time with my family we love movies so one of our favorite things to do is we all snuggle on the coach (including the 60 lb boxer who feels she has to be right on top of me) and watch a movie. I am so grateful and blessed for all of the joys and miracles I have called into my life. I know that I continue to create them moment to moment.
My Story: I love the story of my life; it is full of learning, creation and adventures. Many people as they have heard my life story have said that they feel my life has been hard, unfortunate, terrible, painful etc., especially my child hood. Several of my experiences at the time they occurred of course were many of the ways others described them, however that feeling did not last for long. I have experienced as a child my parents getting divorced when I was about 3 I don’t recall anything about my Father, my mom was remarried 3 more times, I grew up with my parents always being addicted to drugs and alcohol and selling or trading drugs. I am the second to the oldest child and I grew up the only girl until I was 12 when my mother had my younger sister and brother. I remember feeling very lonely most of my life growing up my brothers had each other, my mom was always sick or passed out from something so I had my animal, which explains my love for them=). I was physically abused, sexually abused and emotionally abused. I was kicked out of my home when I was 15 ½ years old and have been on my own ever since. I was date raped in high school, my first husband had an affair, after which I got divorced and remarried to an emotionally abusive man which after 7 ½ years I divorced and have now been remarried to my twin flame and soul mate for 5 glorious years.
Of course there were many other things that occurred through out my life time up to this point, however the reason I mentioned the things that felt hard and painful, the very things that people could say “oh wow you had it so hard”, or “you have been such a victim to others how have you done it”? Those very things have created the opportunity for me to learn that every pain every joy every heart break etc., that I am not those experiences. Those experiences have assisted me in remembering the true me. My life has been a journey orchestrated so beautifully and perfect for me to remember my magnificence. The Goddess that I truly am, my life experiences to me have been a true love story for I have learned to love myself unconditionally! I am grateful for every person who assisted me in these lessons for I know that they showed up exactly as they promised to for me to remember and own who I am, I am an Illuminated Woman I feel powerful, connected, inspired, forgiving, passionate, sensual, tender, a creator, I am every quality of Mother God, I know it, I live it and I am committed to assist other women to remember it with in them selves for we are all the essence of Mother God.
What it means to me to be an Illuminated Woman: I feel to be an Illuminated Woman is to radiate the essence of Mother God who is within each of us; to know ourselves at a universal level; to be conscious of the difference between the truth and the fiction. The truth being that we are magnificent radiant beings of love and light, and the fiction being anything other than the truth. An Illuminated Woman not only owns her magnificence, she also shares it and radiates it to others opening the space for them to embrace their magnificence. We are all Illuminated Women, we simply get to remember it, live it and embrace it!
The tips I would offer to be an Illuminated Woman: I feel we are all already Illuminated Women, so the tips I offer are to first and for most re-member it. What I mean by this is be committed enough to your self to seek your truth, read, learn from others, search for your truth it is every where around you, I am a firm believer that we are all Gods hands, be open to truth from all places and simply take what resonates within you and live it. Do what ever it takes to move past the fear, the limiting beliefs, the self doubt, beneath all of that is your truth, you have it with in you, it is not something that another person can give to you, and you already have it. Others can assist you in remembering it, they can hold up a mirror for you to see it however it is up to you to embrace it to believe it and to re-member it and to own it.
What I do daily to expand my Illumination: I take the time to meditate, I make sure that I am open to spirit, my goal and desire is to live my life from a place of balance between my spirit and my mind. Moment to moment I take inventory on how I am feeling, this is how I keep in check if I am out of balance. My feeling let me know for example if I am feeling tense or frustrated I know that is not serving me so I handle what is creating that with in me, usually it is my thoughts and I simply make the choice to shift them to positive ones. I speak often to the Universe, I stay conscious of what I am thinking and there for creating. I am tender with my self, if I create an undesired result I take a look at it and notice how I created it so I can be conscious to create my desired result instead of an undesired one and the biggest part of that is being neutral about it, I am conscious to keep judgment out of my space.
The reason it would serve for every woman to attend this event: It is time for you to honor yourself, to remember the magnificent radiant beings that you are, to share your light with others and receive the gift of their light to you. As we share of our light it radiates out to the entire world. For I know that world is hungry for this love and light that only you can give.
